| Description of CMU Components | Location Peterborough Power Station (PPS) is located on the eastern outskirts of Peterborough on Storeys Bar Road Peterborough PE1 5NT at national grid reference x:521800 y:299400. The power station is located on the eastern edge of the Eastern Industries industrial estate with other industrial areas located from the southeast to northeast of the site. The remaining land surrounding the power station is predominantly fenland used for cropping and the site is located on a relatively flat area. The power station site occupies an area of 7.3 hectares. Plant Two Gas Turbines (GTs) operating in Open Cycle Gas Turbine (OCGT) configuration comprising: Two Frame 9E GTs with electrical generators; Connection to the 132000 volt electrical distribution system; and Diesel black-start capability. Metering Electrical Generation is MVRNd to the BRITGAS trading account. Site Works Power is netted off Total Generation to leave the balance as net export to the National Grid. |
